What is the job opportunity about?

As an Assistant Branch Manager, you motivate and supervise a high-performing team of advisors in a dynamic, rewarding, and high-workload market, while establishing and achieving the team's sales objectives. You provide support to team members to improve their skills and capabilities to optimize sales and referral opportunities, promote the dissemination of information on digital technologies, and encourage problem resolution at the first point of contact. Aligned with RBC partners around a common purpose, vision, and values, you build relationships and foster collaboration among all employees, regardless of their role. Additionally, you promote continuous improvement of your team through coherent activities to ensure a high level of capability and engagement.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Ensure a high level of employee engagement through talent management, development, and career planning
  • Achieve results through sales management activities and strong advisory skills
  • Collaborate with your supervisor to ensure the operational efficiency of the branch and optimize team performance
  • Advocate and encourage excellence in retail sales, setting an example to provide a memorable customer experience
  • Provide support to team members on advisory services, information provision to clients, and problem resolution and prevention at the first point of contact; promote digital optimization and the use of all service delivery modes
  • Leverage partners to establish internal and external professional relationships to contribute to achieving business objectives
  • Respond to community needs through relevant recruitment methods and management practices
  • What do you need to succeed?

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in a relationship management role in the financial sector (e.g., banking services advisor, financial advisor)
  • Strong track record in business growth, client and community relationship building
  • At least two years of experience as a registered representative for mutual fund sales in the last three years
  • Mutual Fund Sales Permit (successful completion of the Funds of Canada course or the Canadian Securities Course)
  • Acceptable score on the Branch Manager Course exam (BMC), a program offered by the ICVM and intended for mutual fund dealers, or the ability to pass this exam within four months of the start date
  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will serve a bilingual client base

Assets

  • Experience in banking services for individuals and businesses
  • Strong understanding of sales management activities and ability to lead a team in action
  • Post-secondary diploma, ideally in business or business administration, or equivalent experience
  • Business sense and ability to find and exploit new business opportunities
