What will your role entail?

As a Strategic Accounts Director, you will play a central role in the commercial strategy of the region.

  • Cultivate long-term relationships with key decision-makers
  • Support and participate in the development of customized technical solutions for designated accounts
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the organization's structure and the primary purchasing influences of the assigned account
  • Develop and implement plans for strategic accounts that exceed expectations in terms of revenue retention, growth, account profitability, customer satisfaction, and loyalty
  • Identify and resolve more complex issues and apply problem-solving skills to address most situations
  • Make client presentations articulating the value proposition of service offerings
  • Perform a full range of standard tasks for the professional domain
  • Provide the leadership with suggestions to improve market share in volume and pricing levels
  • Pursue a long-term account strategy that maximizes profits
  • Travel the territory for face-to-face interaction with clients

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in electricity or equivalent experience (required)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in sales within the electrical distribution market
  • Very good understanding of electrical distribution schematics
  • Knowledge of Siemens distribution products
  • Very good knowledge of French both orally and in writing
  • Very good knowledge of English both orally and in writing to interact at the national and local level with colleges and anglophone clients
  • Experience with electrical distribution product submission tools
  • Successfully apply complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in electrical distribution
  • Demonstrate knowledge of organizations, commercial practices, and problem-solving
  • Experience with CRM such as Salesforce.com
  • Ability to think in terms of different and diverse projects as well as according to the company's established procedures
  • Ability to seek and propose solutions to clients
  • Leadership and customer relationship management skills
  • Ability to provide general advice or train support and/or professional staff
  • Valid driver's license with the possibility of traveling the territory for face-to-face interaction with clients
  • Bilingualism Required

The candidate selected for this position must be bilingual. Proficiency in both French and English (oral and written) is required to perform the functions and responsibilities associated with the position for the following reasons:

  • The position requires interacting with anglophone clients and suppliers in Canada and/or abroad
  • The position requires regularly interacting with Siemens colleagues based outside of Quebec, elsewhere in the country, and abroad
  • The position requires the use of technologies or software that are only offered in English
  • The position requires liaison with foreign government and regulatory agencies located in the United States and/or Europe
