Automotive Finishing Technician | Paint Prepper

What to Expect

Tesla is looking for an automotive finishing technician to work on one of the world's most revolutionary vehicle brands. This position will involve supporting the body repair program in all aspects.

What You'll Do

• Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust from vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, or sandblasters
• Assist the painter with pre-paint blending needs
• Work with the paint team to ensure the vehicle is ready on schedule
• Prepare vehicles for painting by repairing small dents or scratches with body fillers and smoothing surfaces
• Buff and wax the finished paintwork
• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment using solvents, wire brushes, and cleaning cloths
• Detail vehicles ready for delivery to customers

What You'll Bring

• The successful candidate will be required to support projects in all Canadian provinces and communicate daily primarily in English with staff and clients outside of Quebec
• Prior experience in the vehicle paint process
• Ability to receive instructions and work well with others
• Occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet, or humid conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Paint correction or polishing experience preferred
• Valid Class 5, G, or G2 driver's license for Canada
