Imperial Dade Canada has a position available in Saint-Laurent, QC. The Class 1 Truck Driver is responsible for delivering products to our clients safely and professionally, on time and with precision. There are several shifts available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Drive company vehicles with a valid driver's license in Montreal and the surrounding area.
  • Load and unload stock safely for secure and damage-free transport.
  • Check all orders at the time of delivery and deliver orders according to customer specifications.
  • Ensure that equipment and the truck are in good working order by following delivery maintenance procedures.
  • Familiarize yourself with filling out delivery logs and administrative documents to ensure stock is accounted for.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual (French and English). The employee must be able to communicate with the headquarters, external salespeople, suppliers, etc.
  • An active Class 1 driver's license with a minimum of two years of experience driving trucks is required.
  • Valid Commercial Vehicle Operator's Record (CVOR).
  • Knowledge of TMD and SIMDUT is an asset.
  • Ability to use electric loading equipment.
  • Experience with tail lifts would be considered an asset.
  • Good knowledge of ISO policies and procedures is an asset.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Dependability and reliability.
  • Good decision-making and ability to work independently.
  • High school diploma and/or related experience.

Work Conditions/Other Conditions

  • Work on-site in a warehouse and vehicle in a dry and controlled climate.
  • Mandatory use of personal protective equipment provided by the company.
  • Minimal to moderate exposure to hazardous conditions, noise, and vibrations typical of a warehouse and vehicle environment.
  • Ability to use standing lifting equipment, if applicable.
  • Repetitive physical activities, including but not limited to lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling weights up to 23 kg (50 lb) throughout the duration of the position.
  • As an essential service provider, you must be comfortable driving in all weather and road conditions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • You must be flexible regarding working hours.
  • Ability to work extended hours, which may be necessary from time to time.
