What you need to know
- Department: Litigation Department, Civil Counseling and Litigation Department
- Employment area: Legal case, administrative and civil law
- Expected start date: The start date is scheduled for September, although it may also take place at another time depending on operational needs.
- Salary: Minimum hourly rate of $31.77 and a 6.5% increase is added to this rate to compensate for certain social benefits.

At the SAAQ, it is allowed to do more and make things move! Here is what your daily routine will look like:
- Analyze legal issues to identify points of contention, determine applicable laws, develop strategies, write procedures, and gather evidence (documents) based on legal research (doctrine and case law).
- Present cases to the court, defend the Corporation's position, question and cross-examine witnesses, and participate in court appearances.
- Write legal documents (procedural acts, legal opinions, etc.).
- Ensure case follow-up by collaborating with various stakeholders (prosecutors, court) and updating management information.
- Travel across Quebec to attend hearings and vacations, and gain practical experience.

- High professional rigor and attention to detail, especially in legal writing.
- Sense of work organization that is effective, even in a context where multiple cases are evolving in parallel.
- Ability to prioritize your tasks, adapt quickly to unforeseen events, and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to adapt your speech to your audience.
- Interest in teamwork, while being able to carry out mandates independently.
- Versatility, intellectual curiosity, and a strong desire to learn.
- Comfort in evolving in a dynamic and practice-oriented environment.
- Available to travel across different regions of Quebec, depending on the needs related to the cases (hearings, vacations, etc.).
The person we are looking for must
- Be enrolled full-time at the Quebec Bar School;
- The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in law and have passed the academic part of the Bar School;
- A valid driver's license is required since several trips outside are required;
- Possess Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status, or a work permit issued by the federal authority competent to occupy a position in the public service of Quebec;
- Have appropriate knowledge of French and English for the duties of the position.

To complete your internship, the candidate must provide the following documents:
- A cover letter and curriculum vitae;
- Proof of registration with the Quebec Bar;
- Proof of admissibility to the internship issued by the Bar School, namely:
- + The most recent grade report;
- The degrees obtained and the grade reports from the college and university institutions attended.
**The conditions for carrying out the internship are subject to the transmission of the grade report or an email from the Bar indicating to the student that he/she is admissible to the internship as well as the date of the beginning of admissibility.
