Heavy Equipment Operator and Driver - Anjou

• General Management: General Management of the Metropolitan Network Operations (DGERM)
• Direction: Direction of Electrotechnical Operations and Maintenance (DOEE)

Under the authority of the Operations Chief, the incumbent must perform various earthworks, construction, snow removal, and road maintenance tasks by moving equipment and operating various vehicles and appropriate equipment.

The incumbent will perform the following tasks:

• Drive and operate various heavy machinery including:
• + Snow plow truck equipped with a snowplow, side blade, or spreader;
• + Snow blower;
• + Graders;
• + Excavators;
• + Wheel or track loaders;
• + Pneumatic tampers;
• + Brush trucks;
• + Auger trucks;

+ Road tractor.

• Operate a three (3) or four (4)-axle truck for the transport of bulk material, or as an impact attenuator, bridge plant, nacelle, or crane, etc.;
• Operate a pneumatic loader for loading bulk material;
• Drive a three (3) or four (4)-axle snow plow truck equipped with a salt spreader and snowplow, side blade, or both simultaneously;
• Drive a truck towing a 12 to 30-ton trailer or a truck with a sleeper over 30 tons;
• Operate construction equipment such as a backhoe, brush truck, asphalt roller or compactor, paver, or grader;
• Participate in the team's manual work and perform paving, grading, repair of guardrail and fence, manual patching, ground marking, and other related manual tasks;
• Participate in the loading and unloading of transported material for work.

• Hourly rate of: $27.82 + 15% attraction premium

Additionally, a 6.5% surcharge to compensate for certain non-applicable working conditions.

The Person Sought Must Meet the Employment Requirements

• Hold a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) with specialization in the field of heavy truck driving, heavy machinery operation, or any other relevant field or a relevant certificate of studies whose equivalence is recognized by the competent authority1;
• OR

Hold a High School Diploma or a relevant certificate of studies and at least one year of relevant experience in the driving and operation of heavy vehicles or machinery used in construction and maintenance work of public works, drilling, or in the transport of materials that has allowed the person to acquire knowledge of the functioning and preventive maintenance of one of the heavy vehicles or machinery covered by the attributions of this class;

• Each year of missing education can be compensated by two years of paid or unpaid work experience, including family workload. The DES can also be compensated by a professional specialization certificate or a Diploma of Vocational Studies.
• Hold a valid driver's license, either Class 1, 2, or 3 including the F for pneumatic braking.
• Possess Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status, or a work permit issued by the competent federal authority to occupy a position in the Quebec public service;
• Have appropriate knowledge of French for the functions.

These positions are to be filled in the following cities: Montreal.
