Construction Worker - Vaudreuil

Under the authority of the Operations Chief and under the supervision of the Team Leader for Roads and Structures, the incumbent must carry out various semi-specialized tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and construction of public works, mainly on the road network.
The incumbent will perform the following tasks:
- Spread bituminous concrete with a shovel and/or rake, spread adhesive, and work with the manual patching team;
- Work on the digging and cleaning team for ditches and landfills;
- Work on the cleaning and repair team for manholes and stormwater pipes;
- Install and maintain lateral and construction signage panels;
- Control road traffic as a flagger;
- Repair or reconstruct culverts and foundations;
- Repair or install safety barrier elements;
- Perform spot pavement marking by applying paint;
- Assist the surveying team in placing reference points and establishing references;
- Work at height on a structure in repair with the team assigned to the maintenance of bridges and gabion retaining walls. Remove concrete fragments and secure structures;
- May be assigned other related duties (document sorting, securing, storage, snow removal of courts and buildings, etc.).
- Driving
- Drive a light vehicle or pickup truck;
- Perform road escort during snow removal or road network maintenance work;
- Perform various interventions on the road network (recovery of objects on the road, collection of litter, road closures, assistance to users, network patrol).
- Other Miscellaneous Tasks
- Perform simple and common manual tasks such as lawn mowing, snow removal, debris removal, digging and filling of towers and trenches, tree stump removal and felling, handling heavy objects, loading and unloading materials;
- May be required to use manual and portable tools such as lawn mower, compactor, chainsaw, brush cutter, shears, shovel, pickaxe, hook, broom, rake, hammer, and similar tools.

- Hourly Rate of: 26.88 $
Additionally, a 6.5% premium to compensate for certain non-applicable working conditions.

The Applicant Must Meet the Job Requirements
- Hold a high school diploma equivalent to the 5th year of secondary school recognized by the competent authority or a relevant certificate of studies whose equivalence is recognized by the competent authority;
+ An individual may submit their application if they are in the process of completing the final year of schooling required to obtain the required diploma.
+ Each year of missing schooling can be compensated by two years of paid or unpaid work experience, including family workload. The DES can also be compensated by a professional specialization certificate or a professional studies diploma.
- Possess Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status, or a work permit issued by the competent federal authority to occupy a position in the public service of Quebec;
- Have appropriate French language skills for the functions.
