- General Information
To hold a student position in the public service, you must be enrolled full-time in a program of study (or part-time if you are in the penultimate or final session of your program of study). Looking for a job with a stable weekly schedule? Then this job is for you!
Here’s what your daily job would look like
- Perform the analysis of plumitifs to identify the status of files, ongoing procedures, and decisions made:
+ Based on this analysis, determine the best mechanism for resolving the file (either through instance management, a management conference, or a hearing), then set up the necessary conditions to ensure the continuity of the file and overcome the blockages; + Validate the compliance of files to proceed with their filing and set hearings. If necessary, follow up with the parties to gather and prepare all the documents necessary for the progression of the file; + Take charge of files presenting a legal issue or whose progression is compromised;
- Analyze, verify, and process hearing minutes, conciliation, management conference, instance management, and other legal documents;
- Read, understand, and interpret judges' decisions of a certain complexity to extract the relevant information and take the required administrative actions;
- Process various legal and medical documents, respecting the rules of confidentiality and protection of personal information;
- Ensure the reading and understanding of judgments, orders, and judicial opinions to guide the follow-up of files;
- Perform data entry, updating, and management of files in internal computer systems;
- Collaborate with team members to ensure rigorous and procedure-compliant follow-up;
- Provide general administrative support related to the legal secretariat activities
- Salary, Schedule, and Working Conditions:
We offer you a minimum hourly rate of $23.48. A 6.5% surcharge is added to this rate to compensate for certain social benefits. In addition to working during the day, the job allows for a flexible schedule, promoting the balance between your work, studies, and personal life, with adapted schedules:
- Regular schedule of 14 hours/week during study sessions;
- Schedule of 21 hours/week during reading weeks;
- Schedule of 35 hours/week during the summer period and the Christmas break.

- Ability to read and understand legal language and judicial decisions.
- Good analytical and synthesis skills of information.
- Rigor, organizational sense, and attention to detail.
- Strict respect of confidentiality and professional ethics.
- Ability to work autonomously while effectively collaborating in a team.
- Basic mastery of computer tools and office software.
Requirements to hold the student position
- In addition to matching the above profile, you will need to:
- be enrolled full-time (or part-time if you are in the penultimate or final session of your program of study), in one of the following fields of study: College Diploma (DEC), Legal Techniques, or another relevant diploma judged pertinent or a relevant study certificate whose equivalence is recognized by the competent authority;
- be legally authorized to work in Canada;
- have appropriate French knowledge for the position's assignments.
