As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you ensure the essential liaison between the engineering and procurement departments, guaranteeing smooth collaboration between technical and commercial functions. This role involves harmonizing design requirements with procurement strategies, optimizing costs, quality, and delivery timelines, and ensuring the effective execution of projects from the design phase to procurement and manufacturing. Specifically, you will:
- Serve as the primary interface between the engineering, procurement, and supply chain departments, as well as with key stakeholders.
- Translate technical specifications into clear procurement requirements.
- Ensure compliance with the Corporate Management System (CMS), safety regulations, and best practices.
- Support vendor selection, RFQ and RFP processes, and proposal evaluation.
- Ensure procurement decisions consider technical requirements and associated risks.
- Review and validate technical specifications, plans, and material needs.
- Ensure alignment between design intentions and market capabilities.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure procurement preparation and material delivery on time.
- Manage technical changes in collaboration with the procurement department and vendors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or naval architecture).
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the maritime engineering field, with technical knowledge covering all stages of naval design.
- PMP certification, a plus.
- Knowledge of classification society rules and regulations, as well as flag state requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple, complex, and detail-oriented tasks and projects on time.
- Proficiency in French and English (both oral and written). English proficiency is required for this position, as you will be interacting with anglophone suppliers, partners, or clients.
