Job Responsibilities

SUMMARY

The incumbent is responsible for the equipment reliability program of the plant. He/she must analyze the state of the machines, establish a maintenance plan, prioritize work based on the criticality of the machines, and follow up on the established action plans.

TASKS

  • Maintain an up-to-date list of our equipment and their criticality;
  • Identify critical spare parts;
  • Establish a maintenance strategy for each equipment;
  • Establish a diagnostic regarding the state of each equipment;
  • Identify and follow up on the action plans of SPoF;
  • Perform AMDEC equipment;
  • Carry out and follow up on TPM activities;
  • Supervise the plan for updating preventive, autonomous, and predictive maintenance programs;
  • Make recommendations to the project office regarding the improvement and reliability of equipment;
  • Recommend standardization strategies to engineering;
  • Conduct reliability studies;
  • Prepare service calls and supervise work related to reliability;
  • Propose a plan for treating obsolescence;
  • Follow up on major component warranties;
  • Measure the failure frequency of critical equipment (MTBF);
  • Analyze the TRG of equipment;
  • Know and implement RDP/8D analysis methods;
  • The reliability engineer does not have the responsibility for the design of equipment but can suggest improvements to engineering.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or a technical training combined with relevant experience;
  • Have between 5 to 8 years of experience in the manufacturing sector (support, equipment design, or improvement);
  • Good command of French-English written and spoken (communicate easily with our units and suppliers);
  • Knowledge in failure analysis and continuous improvement (LEAN);
  • Knowledge or expertise in vibration, lubrication, oil analysis, thermography, or ultrasonics;
  • Autonomy, rigor, and accountability;
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal abilities;
  • Ability and interest to act as a change agent.
  • The incumbent of this position must perform quality work, safely, and in respect of the environment, all in accordance with the integrated management system (ESSQ) and other organizational directives. It is also necessary to acquire, apply, and maintain competencies in environmental, health, safety, and quality matters.
