Through suprarregional and provincial assets linked to the Diagnostic Imaging Repository (RID), the person is responsible for ensuring the archiving, transmission, and backup of clinical imaging data in an integrated, secure, and confidential manner. This person is responsible for processing, managing, and quality controlling data related to clinical imaging exams to ensure that no data is missing or erroneous. They ensure the integrity of the data to make it available through various provincial information systems. They assist and support PACS Admin or medical imaging managers in the processes and use of the components of the integrated diagnostic imaging system and provide the necessary technical support to obtain compliant data 24/7. As part of the VNA, they will be part of the Coordination team for the operation, evolution, and support of the VIM/VNA solution (PACS).

General Responsibilities

• Provide first and second-line support to PACS Admin and clinical imaging managers in the RUIS-LAVAL territory on various provincial medical imaging systems.
• Act as an expert in their field of specialization and support PACS administrators at different sites in resolving high-complexity or specialized problems.
• Be familiar with various PACS/SIR applications in the RUIS-LAVAL-Sherbrooke territory and the various modules related to the Imaging domain in connection with the RIDs.
• Train PACS ADMIN for problem resolution related to various applications in the medical imaging domain (ADT, SIR, PACS, RID, VNA).
• Collaborate with MSSS experts, transmit analyses, write new procedures, and recommend improvements.
• Perform any other related functions as requested by their immediate supervisor (Project load, represent the RID-LS example on committees).
• Be an integral part of several provincial training design processes on different platforms. Example: ENA, OTIMROEPMQ...
• Maintain up-to-date skills.
• Participate in VNA-related training to maintain a high level of technical and functional competence.

• Ensure quality control and determine the actions needed to correct erroneous data.
• Participate in tests to validate software and server updates at both the provincial Imaging domain level and the local Imaging domain level.
• Monitor DICOM and HL7 infrastructures rigorously and daily.
• Exception error cases (unpublished exams).
• Discordant cases (Exams that are discordant between the RiD and local PACS).
• NACK events (Rejected exams).
• Analyze duplicate exam reports (Correction of duplicates).
• Analyze the data quality report (various types of errors are found there).
• Collect and analyze archiving statistics from each site and follow up with local sites in case of inconsistencies.
• Ensure quality control and determine the actions needed to correct erroneous data.
• Participate in a 24/7/365 on-call service to respond to emergencies to ensure data sharing and transfer and coordinate activities in case of a RID or VIM/VNA and its components failure.
• Ensure the transfer of urgent exams following medical requests from one establishment to another and ensure their integrity pre and post-transfer.
• Identify major incidents at VIM/VNA and its components, escalate to the concerned vendors for rapid and effective resolution.
• Join the VIM/VNA support team, contribute to the daily management of incidents and service requests.

Requirements

• Required Qualifications:
• Hold a college diploma (DEC) in radiodiagnostic technology, radio-oncology, or nuclear medicine from a recognized school by the competent ministry.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in their field of specialization.
• Be a member in good standing of the corresponding professional order for their discipline, i.e., the Order of Medical Imaging Technologists, Radio-Oncology, and Medical Electrophysiology of Quebec.
• High-level aptitude in computer science and handling of large data sets.
• Understanding of integrations between various computer systems used in medical imaging.
