About the Position
The SDS is seeking an Employment Advisor to join its Synergie Emploi team. The person holding this position will be responsible for supporting individuals in their socio-professional integration journey, particularly those facing obstacles in their path to employment.
Through a human, personalized, and potential-development-focused approach, the employment advisor assists participants in defining their professional goals, job search strategies, and employment integration and retention.
Key Responsibilities
Participant Support
- Meet with participants to assess their needs, skills, interests, and employment-related challenges.
- Develop personalized action plans and provide tailored follow-up on their journey.
- Support job search efforts (resume, cover letters, interview preparation, search strategies).
- Assist participants in their employment integration and retention.
- Employability Development
- Conduct group workshops on job search techniques, professional skills, and the job market.
- Foster the development of autonomy, confidence, and personal and professional skills.
- Provide tools to help participants better understand the realities of the job market.
- Employer and Partner Relations
- Build relationships with employers and industry partners.
- Identify employment opportunities that match participants' profiles and goals.
- Support employers in integrating participants.
- Participate in placement, networking, and job-matching activities.
- Administrative Follow-up and Collaboration
- Document interventions and keep participant files up-to-date.
- Write progress notes, reports, and intervention summaries.
- Use digital tools and internal databases to track progress.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and co-development activities.
- Desired Profile
- College or university degree in orientation, career development, social work, human resources, intervention, or a related field.
- Experience in employability, socio-professional support, or intervention with clients facing employment barriers.
- Strong knowledge of the job market and issues related to professional integration.
- Excellent relational skills, active listening, and ability to build trust.
- Autonomy, organization, and adaptability in complex situations.
- Valid driver's license (an asset).
