Responsible for Engineering Excellence – Industrial Textile Operations (Executive, Full-time)
Ready to drive operational excellence while developing high-performing teams? We are seeking a dynamic Chief Engineer to lead engineering operations at our main industrial textile facility in Quebec.
You will oversee complex industrial transformation equipment, develop preventive maintenance strategies, and mentor engineering professionals. This role combines technical expertise and leadership, directly contributing to the success of our facility through innovative problem-solving and operational optimization.
What You Will Accomplish
- Leadership and Operations
- Lead and develop a competent engineering team through practical mentorship
- Design comprehensive preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment availability
- Collaborate with production and service teams to optimize plant-wide operations
- Manage strategic spare parts inventory while controlling costs
- Technical Excellence
- Master complex systems: hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical controls, and boilers
- Diagnose sophisticated electrical systems, including 230V three-phase configurations
Program and maintain industrial programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to ensure optimal equipment performance
Ensure strict safety standards and regulatory compliance
Desired Profile
Essential Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance engineering for industrial machines
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, particularly on three-phase systems
Proficiency in PLC programming with practical field application
Experience in welding, carpentry, boiler systems, and facility maintenance
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Key Skills
Proven ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation
Natural leader, capable of building and inspiring high-performing teams
Autonomy and strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills

Education and Physical Requirements
- Relevant certifications (e.g., boiler operation, PLC programming) may be required

Work Environment
You will work in a modern industrial laundry equipped with advanced safety systems. The role combines office planning and practical production interventions. Physical requirements: lifting up to 60 lb (≈27 kg), operating forklifts, and handling equipment weighing up to 500 lb (≈227 kg). Occasional travel may be required for parts procurement or training.
Compensation
Base salary: $100,000 - $110,000
