- JOB OVERVIEW
The Business Partner in Human Resources (BPHR) acts as a strategic advisor to leaders to translate business priorities into talent management strategies that foster organizational performance, workforce readiness, and employee engagement.
As a trusted advisor, the BPHR provides thought leadership in organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, leadership development, talent management, and employee experience. They rely on data, market intelligence, and business knowledge to influence decisions and drive sustainable results.
In a dynamic and ever-evolving environment, the BPHR plays a key role in supporting leaders during periods of growth, organizational transformation, and workforce evolution. In close collaboration with the HR Centers of Expertise and key stakeholders in the company, this person implements integrated talent solutions to support strategic objectives and BDC's long-term success.
THE CHALLENGES YOU'LL FACE
Business Partnership
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand strategic priorities and translate them into integrated talent and human resources strategies.
- Act as a trusted advisor and coach to leaders in organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, leadership effectiveness, employee engagement, talent strategy, and succession planning.
- Build strong relationships with leaders and key stakeholders to influence decisions and achieve business results.
- Understand external trends, industry dynamics, and workforce challenges to provide relevant and forward-looking advice.
- Talent and Workforce Strategy
- Lead discussions on talent, succession, leadership development, and workforce planning within assigned business groups.
- Identify talent risks, critical skill gaps, and future workforce needs, and recommend proactive solutions.
- Support the implementation and adoption of BDC's talent management processes, including performance management, talent reviews, and development planning.
- Help leaders understand the implications of emerging trends on workforce, talent, and organization, particularly regarding technology and AI-supported work methods.
- Organizational Effectiveness
- Advise leaders on organizational design, role clarity, team effectiveness, and operational model evolution.
- Collaborate with leaders to align organizational structures, talent, and capabilities with evolving business priorities.
- Provide strategic coaching and advice to leaders in a context of growth, transformation, and organizational change.
- Identify risks and opportunities related to people resulting from business decisions and recommend concrete solutions.
- Data, Analytics, and Decision Support
- Leverage workforce analytics, HR data, market intelligence, and business knowledge to identify trends, anticipate risks, and inform strategic decisions.
- Formulate data-driven recommendations to influence talent, workforce, diversity, and organizational strategies.
- Track key HR metrics and provide actionable analytics to business leaders.
- Challenge assumptions and guide leaders toward data-informed decisions.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including one year as a Business Partner in HR or a Strategic HR Advisor.
- Experience in supporting leaders and senior executives within complex, matrix, or evolving business environments.
- Strong expertise in key HR domains, including talent management, succession planning, workforce planning, organizational development, performance management, compensation, and leadership coaching.
- Experience in organizational design, organizational effectiveness, leadership development, or change management is an asset.
- Excellent understanding of business issues and ability to align talent management strategies with organizational priorities and objectives.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage data and knowledge to support decision-making.
- Demonstrated interest in technology, digital solutions, and AI tools, and ability to use them to improve productivity, decision-making, and employee experience.
- Excellent relationship-building, influence, communication, facilitation, and coaching skills.
- Ability to act as a trusted advisor, constructively challenge established perspectives, and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
- Strong resilience, adaptability, and comfort in an ambiguous and changing context.
- Results-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French.
- The title of CRHA or CRIA is an asset.
