THE ROLE AND THE TEAM

The Business Development Manager – Operations Control Center (OCC) will be primarily responsible for developing and converting the OCC Assistant Manager (OCCAM) solution pipeline in the assigned region, in close collaboration with SITA Account Managers and SITA FOR AIRCRAFT (SFA) Business Development Managers. They will work closely with the product team, regional sales leadership, targeted airlines and aviation clients, project sponsors, OCC/IOCC operations managers, and IT and airline transformation stakeholders.

The role acts as an expert in OCCAM throughout the sales cycle, strengthens account management teams through support measures, and conveys market feedback to the Product team to refine positioning and roadmap priorities.

As a Business Development Manager – OCC, you will focus not only on strategic business development but also leverage all your skills to drive operational performance of airlines across multiple functions, finding the right balance between safety, costs, customer impact, and efficiency in complex and high-stakes environments.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and prioritize target airlines in the APAC and AMER regions, in collaboration with SITA Account Managers and SFA Business Development Managers.
  • Generate new business opportunities through active prospecting, industry events, and the SITA network.
  • Act as an OCCAM expert throughout the sales cycle, supporting Account Managers and SFA Business Development Managers in managing their accounts.
  • Provide Account Managers and SFA Business Development Managers with the tools needed to present the value proposition, use cases, and competitive positioning of OCCAM.
  • Share market and competitive intelligence with the Product team to contribute to roadmap development, positioning, and marketing strategy optimization.
  • Identify stakeholders and sponsors within airlines, including OCC/IOCC operations decision-makers, IT, transformation, and business affairs.
  • Assess customer needs, their current operational environment, operational challenges, readiness for acquisition, and implementation considerations.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers and SFA Business Affairs Managers to define business opportunity strategy, customer messaging, demonstrations, profitability analysis, and proposal elements.

YOUR SKILLS

  • Experience in selling enterprise software or SaaS solutions to airlines or aviation clients.
  • Experience in selling airline applications, ideally in the areas of operational systems, disruption management, or business continuity solutions.
  • Experience in the aviation sector, with a good understanding of procurement decision centers, stakeholder identification, and account management.
  • Experience in software implementation or service delivery, with the ability to explain the delivery process, integration considerations, and operational adoption factors.
  • Deep knowledge of aviation operations, including OCC and IOCC workflows, disruption management, and business continuity processes.
  • Understanding of aviation operations and key stakeholders in the areas of operations control, IT, transformation, and executive sponsorship.
  • Ability to identify key stakeholders, sponsors, and decision-makers within target airline accounts.
  • Understanding of airline operations systems and how they integrate into the global operational environment.
  • Knowledge of the OCC environment, including daily operational rhythms, disruption response, and business continuity decision-making.
  • Strong consultative sales, needs analysis, customer qualification, use case presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
