Required presence: 6 days per month in Montreal, including 2 days at Vieux-Port during PI Planning (every 8 weeks).

About the Position
We are looking for a Big Data Developer specializing in Databricks and PySpark, with experience in cloud environments, to contribute to the optimization and modernization of a strategic data platform.
You will work on high-impact projects aimed at improving data quality, integrity, performance, and automation, within an Agile or SAFe framework.
Technical Requirements and Competencies
- 6 to 10 years of experience in software development
- DEC or BAC in computer science or related field
- Excellent mastery of:
- + Databricks
- + PySpark / Spark
- + Python
- + SQL
- + Git (e.g., GitHub)
- + Docker
- Experience with software development best practices:
- + Code reviews (peer review)
- + Unit testing
- + CI/CD
- Knowledge of Agile and/or SAFe methodologies
- Experience in cloud environments (ideally GCP or Azure)
- Knowledge of Power BI (considered a minor asset)
Objectives and Deliverables
- Design and develop robust and performant Big Data solutions
- Optimize data processing, validation, and distribution processes
- Improve data integrity, quality, and execution times
- Contribute to the automation of currently manual processes
- Ensure the quality of delivered code and the stability of existing solutions
Main Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement data applications and pipelines
- Develop from functional or business requirements
- Write and execute unit tests
- Collaborate closely with QA analysts to fix issues
- Maintain and enhance existing solutions
- Participate in code reviews and collaborative development practices
- Ensure compliance with quality, performance, and security standards
Assets
- Knowledge of architecture deliverables (solution documents, functional and technical diagrams)
- Experience with architecture tools
- Strong knowledge in data modeling
- Knowledge of Big Data practices
- Knowledge in web development (JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS)
- Knowledge of other programming languages
- Experience with Copilot and GitHub
