Required presence: 6 days per month in Montreal, including 2 days at Vieux-Port during PI Planning (every 8 weeks).

About the Position

We are looking for a Big Data Developer specializing in Databricks and PySpark, with experience in cloud environments, to contribute to the optimization and modernization of a strategic data platform.

You will work on high-impact projects aimed at improving data quality, integrity, performance, and automation, within an Agile or SAFe framework.

Technical Requirements and Competencies

• 6 to 10 years of experience in software development
• DEC or BAC in computer science or related field
• Excellent mastery of:
• + Databricks
• + PySpark / Spark
• + Python
• + SQL
• + Git (e.g., GitHub)
• + Docker
• Experience with software development best practices:
• + Code reviews (peer review)
• + Unit testing
• + CI/CD
• Knowledge of Agile and/or SAFe methodologies
• Experience in cloud environments (ideally GCP or Azure)
• Knowledge of Power BI (considered a minor asset)

Objectives and Deliverables

• Design and develop robust and performant Big Data solutions
• Optimize data processing, validation, and distribution processes
• Improve data integrity, quality, and execution times
• Contribute to the automation of currently manual processes
• Ensure the quality of delivered code and the stability of existing solutions

Main Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement data applications and pipelines
• Develop from functional or business requirements
• Write and execute unit tests
• Collaborate closely with QA analysts to fix issues
• Maintain and enhance existing solutions
• Participate in code reviews and collaborative development practices
• Ensure compliance with quality, performance, and security standards

Assets

• Knowledge of architecture deliverables (solution documents, functional and technical diagrams)
• Experience with architecture tools
• Strong knowledge in data modeling
• Knowledge of Big Data practices
• Knowledge in web development (JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS)
• Knowledge of other programming languages
• Experience with Copilot and GitHub
