Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Expertise Center, the API and Payroll Expertise Support Analyst plays a key role in technical support, integration analysis, and investigation of complex situations related to the use of our payroll solutions. The person sought has a developed analytical mindset, an understanding of integration technologies, and the ability to interpret business data and rules to identify the causes of incidents or unexpected behaviors. They contribute to the operational analysis of issues faced by clients and internal teams, including validating the application of payroll rules, evaluating the impact of recurring issues, and formulating improvement recommendations. They act as a reference resource for cases requiring in-depth analysis of processes, data, and integrations.

You will collaborate closely with product, operations, vendor partner, and client teams to ensure the quality of solutions, support operational activities, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our products and services.

Main responsibilities:

  • API Technical Support
  • Analyze, diagnose, and resolve incidents related to API calls, authentication mechanisms, and integrations.
  • Reproduce problematic scenarios and document the results of analyses.
  • Read, interpret, and analyze event logs, error messages, and application traces.
  • Accompany internal teams, clients, and partners in API integrations.
  • Participate in testing, validation, and certification phases of integrations.
  • Answer technical and functional questions from clients.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation (guides, FAQs, procedures, and best practices).
  • Identify recurring issues and formulate improvement recommendations to IT, product, or operations teams.
  • Ensure the onboarding of new clients using APIs.
  • Test new versions before deployment to anticipate impacts on clients and integrations.
  • Operational Analysis and Functional Expertise
  • Analyze complex situations related to the use of payroll solutions and determine root causes.
  • Validate the application of business rules and the accuracy of calculations performed by the payroll system.
  • Conduct data research and analysis to identify potentially affected clients, employees, or processes.
  • Produce the required analyses, recommendations, and deliverables using the team's available tools and technologies, including approved generative AI tools.
  • Perform impact analyses following incidents, anomalies, or changes.
  • Collaborate with operational, IT, and product teams to document findings and recommend corrective actions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality controls, operational processes, and data validation mechanisms.
  • Act as a specialized resource for cases requiring in-depth analysis of payroll processes and application functionality.
  • Documentation and Continuous Improvement
  • Update technical guides, FAQs, procedures, and reference documentation.
  • Contribute to the evolution of API documentation and support tools.
  • Use generative AI tools responsibly to support research, information synthesis, and documentation production.
  • Monitor technological advancements, integration standards, and best practices.
  • Recommend improvements to processes, tools, and work methods.
  • Collaboration and Communication
  • Collaborate closely with product, development, security, operations, and customer service teams.
  • Communicate technical and functional concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects requiring expertise in integration, payroll, or functional analysis.
  • Represent the Payroll Service Center to internal and external partners, as needed.

Qualifications Required to Succeed in This Role

  • Degree in computer science, information systems, administration, accounting, payroll, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a functional analysis, specialized application support, system integration, or operational analysis role.
  • Knowledge of payroll and human resources management processes or strong ability to develop this expertise.
  • Excellent ability to analyze complex situations, identify root causes, and formulate recommendations.
  • Good understanding of integration technologies, including REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Ability to effectively use generative AI tools to enhance analysis, documentation, and problem-solving, while applying appropriate professional judgment.
  • Knowledge of authentication and security mechanisms for integrations (API Keys, OAuth, SSO) is an asset.
  • Ability to interpret and validate business rules and the results produced by a system.
  • Proficiency in data exchange formats such as JSON and XML.
  • Experience with issue management and documentation tools (JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of SQL or experience in querying and analyzing data is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical and functional concepts.
