Overnight Respite Manager

Under the supervision of the Program Manager – Youth Sector, the *Respite Manager* is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising short-term respite services offered in overnight accommodations. They ensure a safe, caring, and participant-needs-appropriate environment while effectively managing the team and resources.

Service Management

• Plan, organize, and supervise overnight respite stays.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Monitor participants' well-being, safety, and needs.
• Manage emergency situations and make appropriate decisions.

Staff Management

• Supervise, mentor, and support the existing team.
• Participate in staff onboarding and integration.
• Replace staff as needed and adjust work schedules accordingly.
• Conduct performance evaluations and foster team skill development.
• Manage conflicts and group dynamics.
• Handle disciplinary actions and implement appropriate sanctions.

Service Coordination

• Collaborate with families, partners, and professionals involved.
• Participate in intervention plan development and follow-up when required.
• Train and support staff in task completion and crisis/incident management.
• Ensure proper medication administration.
• Plan and enforce activity schedules and team meetings.

Administrative Management

• Maintain participant files and write detailed reports, progress notes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
• Prepare material resources and manage inventory.
• Respect the confidentiality of personal information and the organization's ethical standards.

Health and Safety

• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety rules.
• Ensure emergency protocols are known and applied.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
• Handle incident or accident situations in coordination with the CNESST.
• Prepare reports and communicate with relevant parties.

Communication

• Maintain regular, professional, and effective communication with the Program Manager to share relevant information and follow up on files.
• Maintain respectful, clear, and caring exchanges with parents, keeping them informed of relevant information and addressing their questions or concerns.
• Ensure clear and effective communication with staff to ensure directives, expectations, and adjustments are understood and implemented.

What Makes You an Asset

• You have solid experience in team management, mandatory;
• You have experience in supporting individuals with ASD, mandatory;
• You have experience in day camps, school settings, intermediate resources, and related environments;
• You have at least a basic qualification in special education, psychoeducation, teaching, or other relevant fields;
• You have excellent decision-making skills and great adaptability;
• You demonstrate excellent judgment and strong leadership.
