This process aims to fill one position (104227) for an approximate duration of 12 months. OUR OFFER
The personnel of the Division of Permits and Inspection ensures the application of regulations related to the built environment as well as public and private domains. This division oversees the processing of requests and applications for regulatory approvals, including those related to construction, housing sanitation, public safety, animal control, and nuisances. Recognized for its versatility, this team consists of more than twenty people.
Your Mandate
You perform tasks related to the enforcement and application of permits, regulations, estimates, specifications, agreements, and municipal authorizations for various competencies in public and private domains. You must, among other things, carry out inspections, inform the public about municipal regulations, conduct surveys and observations, and verify the compliance of work, regulatory authorizations, and situations within your area of expertise. Additionally, you issue opinions and violation notices and take the necessary steps to resolve non-compliance situations. You also report problematic or urgent situations that may compromise the safety of citizens. More specifically, you:
- inform the population about regulations, services, and municipal processes, including waste management, animal control, cleanliness, and handle complaints and inquiries;
- conduct inspections, report damage to municipal assets and urban furniture, record nuisances, and non-compliant applications to various municipal regulations in public and private domains;
- verify the compliance of regulatory authorizations and municipal agreements regarding the use of public domain and demand the release of illegally occupied roadways;
- determine whether an opinion or notice should be issued, draft it, coordinate corrective measures, and prepare the necessary documentation for legal proceedings;
- ensure the safety and maintenance of construction sites throughout the project and demand the suspension of work in case of non-compliance.
PROFILE REQUIRED
- High school diploma
- 2 years of experience in the application of regulations through patrols, surveillance activities, or field inspections
- First Aid and Safety Course Certificate (ASP)
- Skills in regulatory interpretation and customer service, desirable
- Functional English language skills, an asset
- Class 5 driver's license
