The SPCA Roussillon is a charitable organization whose mission is to help animals in distress, without owners or neglected. We offer animal services on a territory of more than 37 cities in the region. We welcome families from all over Quebec and neighboring provinces to our adoption center, which helped more than 2105 animals find a family last year.

Job Title: (Customer Service) Reception

Employment Type: We offer a permanent full-time position with a daytime schedule, including one weekend per two. The weekday shifts are mainly from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Salary: 18.50$/hour

Job Summary: We are looking for a person to join our team as a receptionist in customer service, starting in August. This position aims to provide courteous, professional, and high-quality customer service while actively contributing to the well-being of the animals at the SPCA.

• Always respect the biosafety protocols in place at the shelter.
• Welcome visitors to the shelter warmly and meet their needs.
• Manage the arrival of animals brought by citizens (abandonment, stray animals, trap-caught animals, wildlife).
• Guide potential adopters through the adoption process and finalize the transaction.
• Ensure that the care of the cat pens and the area dedicated to small domestic animals is done correctly and according to established protocols.
• Update the descriptive files of animals available for adoption.
• Inform, guide, and support volunteers and foster families.
• Actively participate in maintenance, cleaning, and washing tasks.
• Monitor the general health of cats in the adoption pens and report any anomalies.
• Place supplies for sale, ensure their presentation, and manage received donations.
• Contribute to the management of the shelter's social networks to attract new adopters and promote animals for adoption.
• Perform any other tasks related to the responsibilities of the position or requested by the administration.

• Comfortable in an environment including domestic animals, exotic animals, and wildlife
• Good sense of observation, attention to detail, and reliability in task execution
• Team spirit and ease of communication
• Availability to work weekends
• Ability to communicate effectively in French and English, both orally and in writing, to provide quality service to customers
• Animal-related training (asset)
• Relevant experience in a similar position for at least one year (asset)
• Age 18 or older
