Orthotics and Prosthetics Technician

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

• Under the responsibility of the Head of the Technological Aids Service, the incumbent:
• Manufactures components of technical aids according to estimates;
• Repairs, modifies, and restores manual and motorized wheelchairs and various technical aids;
• Delivers wheelchairs and other technical aids under the supervision of a clinician, when required, and performs adjustments; in collaboration with our partners; CHSLD, CLSC, Home…
• Participates in the evaluation, adjustment, and delivery of positioning and adaptation aids in collaboration with our partners; CHSLD, CLSC, Home…
• Prepares supporting documents for billing to the payer;
• Monitors the inventory of materials required for the design and repair of aids.
• Performs any other related tasks, as requested by the supervisor.

• Inform your supervisor of any incident or accident you witness and complete an AH-223 form;
• Participate in fire drills and evacuation procedures that apply to your work sector; Know and apply the emergency response plan;
• Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data and information contained in files.
