Line Cook

Overview

September Cafe is looking for hard working line and prep cooks to join our team! Looking for someone with medium level experience (1-3 years). September is a busy cafe serving lunch and brunch. A fun atmosphere with people who respect each other. Tips are shared.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items following established recipes and presentation standards
• Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
• Ensure all food is handled safely and stored properly in accordance with food safety regulations
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
• Serve dishes promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
• Follow all health and safety guidelines related to food handling and sanitation
• Support the overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen to meet health department standards

Experience

• Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment preferred
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and meal presentation
• Familiarity with food safety protocols and proper food handling practices
• Experience with meal preparation in a fast-paced setting is advantageous
• Strong understanding of the food industry standards for quality, hygiene, and safety
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
