As a Positioning Strategy Analyst, you will contribute to the planning, coordination, and execution of strategic pursuit and capture activities for complex opportunities in the construction industry.
In close collaboration with capture managers, business development teams, proposal teams, technical teams, operations, and external partners, the Positioning Strategy Analyst helps position Pomerleau favorably throughout the lifecycle of opportunities, from market strategic monitoring and business opportunity qualification to proposal submission and pursuit closure.
This role combines research, analysis, stakeholder coordination, and process management activities to support the effective execution of capture strategies and maximize the organization's chances of success.
What you will do
- Support the development and implementation of capture plans for priority pursuits and strategic opportunities.
- Conduct research and analysis on clients, projects, competitors, and market conditions to guide capture strategies and pursuit decisions.
- Analyze client priorities, supply chain strategies, evaluation criteria, and stakeholder environments to support opportunity positioning and qualification.
- Identify differentiating factors, winning themes, positioning opportunities, and strategic actions to strengthen the competitiveness of pursuits.
- Conduct competitive analyses, including competitors' capabilities, project experience, strategic partnerships, and market positioning, then synthesize results into actionable recommendations for pursuit teams.
- Prepare informational documents, opportunity profiles, capture summaries, and decision-support tools for executive reviews and pursuit governance processes.
- Coordinate capture activities, meetings, reviews, workshops, and stakeholder interactions to ensure alignment among pursuit teams.
- Track milestones, actions, deliverables, and commitments resulting from capture activities, ensuring timelines are met.
- Maintain up-to-date capture documentation and support proposal preparation activities, ensuring opportunity-related information is current, well-organized, and easily accessible.
- This role is for you if you have
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, engineering, construction management, communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in supporting business development, capture management, proposal preparation, pursuit management, project development, or strategic planning in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry.
- Experience in market research, opportunity analysis, competitive intelligence, or support for business development activities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and recognized problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in managing and updating business opportunity data, tracking registers, CRM systems, or similar business development platforms.
