Description

Email & SMS Strategist (Klaviyo) · E-commerce Retention Specialist (Klaviyo) · Lifecycle Marketing Strategist A small five-person digital agency based in the Laurentians. We work with e-commerce brands that generate over $1 million in revenue. Small enough for every decision to matter, serious enough to handle real volume accounts.

Today, we're adding dedicated expertise to the email and SMS channel, and we're looking for the person to carry it forward.

The role in brief

You take charge of the email and SMS channel for a portfolio of e-commerce brands. Intentionally limited: few enough accounts so you know each brand in depth, but not so few that it's routine.

You don't just execute. You profile an account, identify where the money is, build the strategy, deploy it in Klaviyo, and defend it with numbers. From the initial audit to the monthly client report, the channel is yours.

Our in-house developers and designers are there to support you. You're not alone in producing, but you're the one who decides the direction.

Responsibilities

  • Account Strategy and Diagnosis
  • Audit Klaviyo accounts: flows in place, list health, segmentation, deliverability, attributed revenue vs total revenue.
  • Profile a brand completely: products, margins, purchase cycle, seasonality, customer lifetime value, repurchase behavior.
  • Build the email/SMS roadmap per client (90 days and annual), prioritized according to impact on revenue.
  • Define the promotional strategy: campaign calendar, offers, key moments (BFCM, holidays, launches, liquidations).
  • Present and defend the strategy to the client, then adjust it according to their margin and inventory constraints.
  • Flows and Automations
  • Design, build, and optimize the entire set of e-commerce flows: welcome, abandoned cart, abandoned navigation, abandoned checkout, post-purchase, repurchase, winback, VIP, back in stock, price drop, birthday, review request.
  • Build the segmentation architecture: engagement, RFM, product categories, lifecycle, predictive Klaviyo segments.
  • Map out the conditional logic, splits, and delays according to each brand's real purchase cycle.
  • Continuously evolve the flows based on performance. We don't build them once and forget about them.
  • Campaigns
  • Plan, build, test, and send email and SMS campaigns according to the established calendar.
  • Manage the multi-client sending calendar and meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate production needs with our designers and developers: clear briefs, on-time assets, efficient back-and-forth.
  • Gather from the client what's needed to execute: product visuals, offers, promo codes, dates.
  • Creation: Design and Copywriting
  • Build emails in Klaviyo respecting each brand's identity.
  • Produce or adapt visuals in Figma or Canva when it's faster to do it yourself than to brief.
  • Write the copy: subjects, preheaders, body copy, CTAs, SMS. In French and English.
  • Maintain reusable templates and blocks to speed up production without losing quality.
  • Ensure consistency between the email message and the landing page.
  • Technical, Integrations, and Deliverability
  • Manage Klaviyo-Shopify integration: catalog synchronization, tracking events, dynamic product feeds.
  • Configure and monitor domain authentication (DKIM, SPF, DMARC) and dedicated sending domains.
  • Drive deliverability: domain warming, sunset policy, bounce and complaint management, list cleaning.
  • Ensure LCAP, CAN-SPAM, and GDPR compliance: consent, unsubscribe, preference management.
  • Build and optimize capture forms (pop-ups, embedded, teasers) and grow lists.
  • Configure the SMS channel: compliance, opt-in, frequency, sending windows.
  • Analysis and Reporting
  • Track KPIs per account: attributed revenue, open rate, click rate, conversion rate, revenue per recipient, list growth, unsubscribes.
  • Build and maintain Klaviyo dashboards and recurring client reports.
  • Design and interpret A/B tests: subjects, creatives, offers, timing, flow structure. Document learnings and reuse across accounts.
  • Translate data into actionable recommendations: what to change, why, and what impact to expect.
  • Present results to clients in clear language, not jargon.

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience on high-volume Klaviyo accounts. The number of years counts less than the accounts you've managed and the results you can show.
  • Real mastery of Klaviyo: flows, segments, forms, metrics, Shopify integration.
  • Ability to go from strategy to execution without intermediaries.
  • Comfort with data: read a report, isolate the issue, propose a numbered solution.
  • Solid foundation in email design (Figma or Canva) and commercial copywriting.
  • Bilingual French-English, both spoken and written.
  • Autonomy and organization: multiple clients, multiple calendars, all at once.

Assets

  • Experience in an agency or multi-client management.
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS for email for fine-tuning.
  • SMS marketing experience (Klaviyo SMS, Postscript, Attentive).
  • A BFCM or two under the belt on high-volume accounts.
  • Knowledge of CRO and landing pages.
  • Experience migrating from other platforms (Mailchimp, Braze, Attentive).
