  • Administrative Unit : Investigations Department

  • Telework Mode : Hybrid (telework and in-person)

Join the Team!

The Investigations Department primarily conducts administrative investigations of the client base to help the organization make fair and equitable decisions. The investigations are mainly related to the Family Allowance, but they may also involve the Quebec Pension Plan and public sector retirement plans. Our team is dynamic, characterized by a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration.

What Will Your Day-to-Day Look Like?

An investigation request is submitted for a file deemed potentially fraudulent. First, you analyze the facts already collected by the operational unit employees and determine the additional evidence needed to strengthen your file. You then begin your research and documentation of the file. Next, you put on your detective hat and leave your cubicle! You will go out into the field to meet with citizens to gather testimonies to shed light on the chronology of events and seek the truth. Ho! You make great discoveries! Then comes the step of writing your investigation report, which will help justify the decisions to be made in this file. Finally, your work will result in the payment of benefits to beneficiaries in compliance with laws and regulations, and in some cases, the recovery of overpaid amounts. Motivating, isn't it?

Does the idea of going out into the field seem constraining? Know that you will be autonomous in planning your procedures, which will require an average of one day per week in travel, that the territory you will cover will primarily be concentrated in the Greater Montreal area, and, consequently, there will be few situations where your travel will require an overnight stay. Some procedures may be done remotely.

Even if your work will bring you to work more alone, you can count on the collaboration of your team leader and colleagues to share your ideas. Cohesion and teamwork are very important in the Investigations Department. Your team leader, Vincent, will be present at your beginnings to accompany you on the field.

Testimonial from a Future Colleague “My work is gratifying, not only because it allows me to acquire and develop my investigative skills, but also to retrace the facts that lead to the truth.”

Salary : from $53,730 to $75,444

The amounts associated with the different levels can be viewed on the website of the Treasury Board Secretariat.
