We are looking for security sergeants to fill positions at the Lionel-Groulx College located in Sainte-Thérèse.

Hours: 40h/Week -

Monday to

Friday 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM

YOUR MISSION...

  • Jointly with the captain, plan and organize work schedules;
  • Define patrol routes and submit them to the captain for approval;
  • Ensure that all required security personnel are present at the start and throughout the shift;
  • If necessary, take the necessary measures with the service provider to fill all assignments;
  • Check work hours reports from agents and submit them to the captain at the end of each week for validation;
  • Check patrol reports and take the necessary measures to correct errors or omissions;
  • Maintain discipline within the team and ensure the respect of established policies, directives, instructions, and procedures;
  • Ensure that all agents correctly and uniformly apply the laws and regulations in force on the college site and that violations are treated and documented correctly;
  • Issue traffic violation reports when a vehicle violates the regulations in one or both parking areas;
  • Ensure that any new policy, regulation, directive, instruction, or procedure, as well as any modification to it, is communicated promptly to agents and that each understands its meaning, scope, and application;
  • If needed, communicate with emergency services and provide all necessary information to facilitate their operations;
  • Ensure the proper deployment of measures outlined in the operational instructions manual, such as setting up a security perimeter, controlling access routes, etc.;
  • Perform the tasks designated for the sergeant in the emergency measures manual;
  • Report to the captain any anomaly, omission, or complaint from the internal or external regarding the agents;
  • At each academic session, participate in the performance evaluation of agents conducted by the captain;
  • At the beginning of each shift, review events that occurred during the previous period, examine each daily report and incident report, and take appropriate follow-up with agents if needed;
  • Maintain an up-to-date weekly security incident log and write a brief report for the captain;
  • Immediately report to the captain any major incident or serious anomaly;
  • At the captain's request, assist in an investigation or similar situation;
  • Perform any other task at the request of the College's security manager or the captain.

YOU HAVE

  • Excellent observation and organization skills;
  • Good stress management;
  • The ability to interact with a diverse clientele (in French and English);
  • The ability to quickly intervene when needed;
  • Supervision experience;
  • Comfortable with computers;
  • 2 years of experience in security;
  • A valid driver's license;
  • A valid BSP license;
  • A valid first aid certificate (CNESST).
