The National Archives in Quebec (scientific complex site) is currently recruiting an office agent.

The Archives Act governs the management of public and private archives in Quebec and assigns BAnQ a dual mission, which is to preserve and disseminate historical archives and support the integrated management of government and public organization documents covered by this law.

To fulfill this mission, BAnQ relies on its General Directorate of Expertise-Consulting and National Archives, present in Montreal, Quebec, Gaspé, Gatineau, Rimouski, Rouyn-Noranda, Saguenay, Sept-Îles, Sherbrooke, and Trois-Rivières.

Purpose of the Position:

Under the direction of the Director of the National Archives in Quebec, you will participate in the preservation, dissemination, and reproduction of archives.

This is a part-time, occasional position (21 hours per week) until March 31, 2027.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Perform tasks related to consulting archival documents.
  • Handle the necessary handling linked to user requests.
  • Make the requested reproductions and digitizations.
  • Contribute to the preservation of archival documents by respecting the rules of document handling and conservation.
  • Contribute to tracking user requests, both on-site and at a distance, related to archives.
  • If necessary, compile certain data and statistics.
  • Perform various tasks within the scope of your employment.

  • Knowledge of office tools (Word and Excel) and proficiency in an IT environment.
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written French.
  • Ability to work in a team.
