Job Vacancy: Digital Campaigner (Bilingual)
Location: Anywhere in Canada, hybrid - remote
Reports to: Co-Head of Program (Nature \& Biodiversity)
Details: Full-Time, temporary 4 month contract position, unionized, four day work week, Monday to Thursday, 28 hours/week.
Contract Dates: September 1 (or sooner if possible) to Dec 31, 2026
Salary: $64,643 - $69,918 CAD per year. This amount will be prorated for partial years of service.

ABOUT THE ROLE
- As the Digital Campaigner, you will:
- Deliver engaging, innovative and effective online campaigns that meet our impact and fundraising goals.
- Working within project teams, design and implement strategies to mobilize existing and new supporters to help win campaigns and strengthen the Greenpeace movement. This could include:
+ Implementing and constructing engaging supporter journeys, in close collaboration with the Head of Communications and the Digital Campaigner for the Nature and Biodiversity program team + Implementing and developing credible calls to action that support the project’s theory of change, moving the campaign forward + Implementing and developing the digital narrative and email story that will deepen supporter engagement in our Oceans work.
+ Ensuring all digital communication and strategy align across the Oceans sub-campaigns with the overarching organizational goals.
- Ensure all digital activity supports progress towards campaign mobilization and fundraising KPIs and lead generation goals)
- Write innovative, engaging, and compelling, web content and emails to trigger action and deepen engagement with both French and English-speaking audiences.
- Co-manage GPCs online social networks and communities, including moderating, creating content, encouraging conversation, deepening engagement and growing communities.
- Implement the Credible Communications Policy in content production for web, emails and social media. Ensure those materials are approved by the Head of Communications and Supporter Journeys before public release.
- Act as organizational spokesperson when required.
- Keep abreast of innovation, developments and trends in the digital advocacy space, working with the team to test as appropriate and expanding the GPC internal body of knowledge. Proactively engage with Greenpeace’s global digital community to share and learn best practices.
- Act as a resource to staff on the most effective use of digital properties as campaigning and communications tools.
- Coordinate and co-manage the content publishing schedule, coordinate publishing priorities and negotiate with other departments across the website, email list and social media.
- With the Head of Communications, Digital Campaigner for Nature and Biodiversity, Head of Marketing and Donor Growth, and Head of Insights and Engagement Systems, participate in the development, planning and implementation of GPC’s Oceans content strategy and digital editorial calendar.
- Report on the effectiveness of GPC’s online presence and engagement through regular reporting and analysis of metrics.
- Identify campaign communication key opportunities for web target audiences. Seek to build linkages between digital and offline opportunities for action.
- Manage the reporting, tracking and evaluation of specific digital campaign strategies in consultation/coordination with the Data Strategist.
- Ensure all online activities comply with the organizational policies and positions,, usability and best practice guidelines.
- SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- To be successful in this role, you have:
- Digital and Technical Skills: to create, manage and update web and social media content.
Graphic design skills.
- Organizational, Administrative and Time Management Skills: to manage multiple projects, conflicting priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Research and Analytical Skills: to evaluate information, plan strategies and anticipate ramifications; to develop systems and procedures
- Innovation and Knowledge-Sharing Skills: to develop creative online campaign solutions; to contribute to fostering a culture of excellence and innovation by actively sharing knowledge and striving for continuous improvement.
- Bilingual Verbal and Written Communications Skills: to effectively communicate campaign issues and strategies internally and externally; to write web content, procedures and reports using a professional level of fluency in both French and English.
- Interpersonal and Team Work Skills: to function effectively within cross-departmental project teams; to interact effectively in a diverse and multi-cultural environment and across hierarchies.
- Knowledge sharing and innovation: to contribute to fostering a culture of excellence and innovation by actively sharing knowledge and striving for continuous improvement
- In-depth understanding of digital strategy, online community management
- Understanding of marketing/branding, online design and optimizing user experience/usability issues
- Knowledge and experience of web development technologies such as HTML \& CSS, Content Management Systems such as Hubspot, Planet3 and Drupal, and Constituent Management Systems/EMS such as Engaging Networks or New/Mode
- Design programs such as Canva, Photoshop, or similar programs
- Experience of campaigning, lobbying, or advocacy
- Knowledge of environmental issues and the environmental sector, related to ocean justice, anti-extraction, and/or biodiversity
- Knowledge of the overall goals and intent of Greenpeace (mission, vision, values)
- Knowledge of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis languages are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of other languages that reflect the diversity of Canada’s many communities are also highly desirable.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be legally authorized and entitled to work in Canada.
- Comfortable working in a remote setting within Canada, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple international locations.
- May require extended and irregular hours at times to meet organizational needs.
- Includes limited domestic and international travel.
- *Physical Effort Requirements* – Standard remote office work, involving extended periods of computer use, requiring sustained attention to detail.
