Description
Under the supervision of the Operations Director, the incumbent plans and organizes the activities of receiving, shipping, and preparing orders with the supervisors; monitors operational activities with his/her supervisor, supervisors, and other departments.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the smooth running of operations and resolves common issues;
- Produces and analyzes various operational reports and follows up with his/her supervisor and supervisors;
- Acts proactively by suggesting new ways to improve productivity, customer service, and reduce operational costs to his/her supervisor;
- Ensures the welcoming, integration, and training of new employees and reviews the training program;
- Motivates his/her team to achieve productivity, customer service quality, and cost management goals;
- Assumes positive leadership fostering team spirit, motivation, and employee satisfaction to maintain a favorable work environment for staff retention.
- In collaboration with Human Resources, supervises the hiring and layoff process according to workforce needs;
- Establishes work schedules; plays a coaching and support role for supervisors by offering his/her support and expertise in operations, staff management, and other areas;
- Encourages good practices and ensures that health and safety standards and procedures are followed and maintains the safety and cleanliness of the premises;
- Ensures compliance with the collective agreement and company policies and regulations;
- Conducts performance evaluations of supervisors and follows up on them; conducts disciplinary meetings and prepares files.
- Informs employees through periodic meetings; participates in various committees or meetings required by his/her duties;
- Participates in internal and external audits;
- Ensures the supply of materials for the warehouse and the maintenance of equipment within budgets and performs any other tasks requested by his/her supervisor or required by his/her duties.
Qualifications
- College diploma (DEC);
- 6 to 12 years of relevant experience;
- Dynamism, flexibility, and sense of organization and priorities;
- Experience in staff management in a unionized environment;
- Concern for customer satisfaction;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well, communicate, and coach others;
- Good knowledge of health and safety regulations;
- Stress resistance;
- Autonomy, discretion, and diligence.
- Proficiency with computer systems and good knowledge of the Office suite, such as Word and Excel software.
