Under the supervision of the IT Director, the IT Technician provides first and second-level technical support to the entire organization!

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily IT support to users (hardware, software, network, and accounts) via the ticketing system, by phone, and in person, in French and English
  • Install, configure, and maintain on-site servers (Windows Server / file servers / domain controllers), including patches, backups, and basic troubleshooting
  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 services: Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, as well as user and group management in Entra ID (Azure AD)
  • Manage the user account lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, permissions, and license assignment
  • Configure and maintain workstations, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
  • Monitor server status, storage capacity, and backup jobs; escalate or resolve issues proactively
  • Configure and support network equipment, including switches, Wi-Fi access points, VPNs, and Fortinet firewalls (policies, VPN tunnels, basic rule troubleshooting)
  • Maintain documentation of systems, procedures, and recurring issues (bilingual documentation as needed)
  • Contribute to IT security best practices (antivirus/EDR, patches, password policies, MFA, firewall rule reviews)
  • Support videoconferencing and meeting room equipment as needed
  • Participate in IT projects such as hardware refresh, software deployment, or infrastructure upgrades

Requirements

  • *Education and Training*
  • 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in networking, IT, or equivalent (an asset)
  • *Skills and Abilities*
  • Ability to communicate in English and French (verbal and written, offices across Canada)
  • Strong knowledge of on-site server administration (Windows Server, Active Directory, file/print services)
  • Good understanding of the Microsoft 365 admin center, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams
  • Knowledge of user and group management in Entra ID (Azure AD)
  • Good understanding of network concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewall)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a customer-service oriented mindset
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests in a multi-entity environment
