Person who participates in the evaluation and analysis of users' needs, in the development of standards, policies, clinical tools and professional practice standards, and in the search for appropriate solutions, in order to help the establishment improve the quality of professional acts. She contributes to the appropriation of clinical orientations, models and approaches. She advises and supports various interveners in the application of clinical processes to users. She may participate in various teaching and training activities.

Summary of Responsibilities

The prevention and intervention teams in TGC have the mandate to intervene with a clientele aged 7 years and over, with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder as well as intellectual disability, and whose conventional specialized adaptation and rehabilitation services cannot meet their needs due to their complexities. The mandate of this service aims to prevent the appearance of a behavioral disorder/serious behavioral disorder or to reduce the situations of handicap related to it, notably by offering a service intensity and promoting a systemic approach. In collaboration with the various partners, the interventions are carried out within a rigorous and coordinated interdisciplinary approach and are applied according to the principles of parental coaching. In this sense, the SAC dedicated to the user plays an essential role in the evaluation of behavioral disorders, the orientation of services and the on-site support to specialized educators. The SAC dedicated to the user may also be called upon to participate in inter-establishment meetings to support the partners of the network (school environments, community organizations, etc).

Under the hierarchical authority of the head of rehabilitation, the holder of the position fulfills his mandate, in respect of the rights of users, by carrying out all the activities entrusted to him in the clinical process. He takes into account the approaches and practices recognized as being the most relevant and secure for the clientele. The holder of the position is called upon to travel throughout the territory of the east, north and central-south of the Island of Montreal.

Main Responsibilities *Acts on complex files (user presenting a serious behavioral disorder):*

• Contributes to evaluations regarding a user's problematic behavior;
• Supports the functional analysis of a user's problematic behavior;
• Participates in the elaboration of the PSI-PI and its implementation;
• Participates in interdisciplinary meetings and meetings with partners for a specific user;
• Offers specific and adapted knowledge transfer to a user;
• Offers coaching/modeling to key interveners in the user's file to which he is assigned;
• Supports the key intervener in the application of a program for a user or a group of users;
• *Evaluation and Orientation*
• Support the specialized educator in the collection of data with the Processus de Production du Handicap (PPH) tool and help to formulate/prioritize situations of handicap in a systemic perspective.
• Support the specialized educator in the functional evaluation of behavioral disorders (identify the target behavior, choice of data collection tools and analysis of results)
• Participate in interdisciplinary service orientation meetings.
• Participate in service plan meetings with partners (PSI)
• *Recommendations and Follow-up*
• Support the clinical team in the elaboration of recommendations, based on evidence-based data in the prevention of behavioral disorders in autistic persons or with intellectual disability.
• Coach specialized educators in the application of various interventions, notably parental coaching.
• Know the interventions related to models, approaches and tools in order to ensure consistency in the intervention (aba, teacch, pecs, etc.)
• Ensure the follow-up of recommendations (monitoring) and animate the multi-modal action plan meetings (PAM) or other type of tool
• Ensure the maintenance of files in accordance with the establishment's standards (progress notes, clinical documents, etc.)
• *Support for the Implementation of the Team*
• Animate or co-animate clinical meetings, contribute to the elaboration and choice of capsules or other group clinical support activities.
• Demonstrate the ability to reflect in order to analyze one's professional practice critically in a continuous improvement perspective in order to meet the specific needs of the clientele.
• Participate in the development of the service offer.

Required Academic Education

• Must hold a bachelor's degree in an appropriate university discipline (educational intervention domain)

Experience

• Knowledge of practices in TGC with a clientele of 7 years and over (an asset)
