Weigh Room Clerk
Fabrication et opérationsDescription
Medicine Box is looking for Full-Time and Part-Time Weigh Room Associates to join our team.
As a Weigh Room Associate, you’ll play an important role in preparing customer orders accurately, efficiently and safely. You’ll be responsible for weighing, packaging, sealing, labelling and documenting products while ensuring every order meets our quality standards.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys detailed, hands-on work, stays calm during busy periods and takes pride in getting things right. Accuracy, cleanliness and following procedures are essential, but so are teamwork, positive energy and a willingness to help wherever needed.
We’re hiring team members who have flexible availability and can work a mix of days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
What We’ll Be Counting on You For
- Reviewing each order carefully and confirming the correct product, quantity, weight, packaging and label requirements before getting started.
- Accurately weighing whole flower and pre-roll products using the correct scales, tools, measurements and procedures.
- Packaging, sealing and labelling products so they’re clean, secure, accurate and ready for the next stage of service.
- Double-checking products, weights, quantities, packaging, seals and labels before releasing completed orders.
- Correctly using, reading, zeroing and taring scales, and recognizing when a scale or result may not be accurate.
- Completing order records, inventory logs, count sheets, cleaning records and other required documentation accurately and on time.
- Communicating quickly when an order is unclear, a product is unavailable, something doesn’t look right or additional support is needed.
- Remaining calm and organized during busy periods while balancing urgency with accuracy. A rush is never a reason to skip an important check.
- Keeping products, tools, labels, packaging materials, completed orders and work in progress clearly organized and separated.
- Cleaning and sanitizing scales, tools, containers, counters, work surfaces, storage areas and floors.
- Using quieter periods productively by cleaning, organizing, replenishing approved supplies, checking packaging materials, supporting inventory counts and asking where help is needed.
- Working closely with other Weigh Room Associates, Budtenders, Cashiers, Inventory and the broader Medicine Box team to support smooth and accurate service.
- Maintaining a clean and professional open-counter area and acknowledging customers when appropriate.
What You’ll Bring With You
- Previous experience in cannabis, production, packaging, food preparation, inventory, manufacturing or another precision-based environment is an asset, but isn’t required.
- You must be 18 years of age or older.
- Strong attention to detail, basic math and measurement skills.
- The ability to follow order information, weights, labels, packaging requirements, cleaning procedures and quality standards without skipping steps.
- Comfort using scales and recognizing when a reading or result may be inaccurate.
- The ability to work quickly and calmly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Comfort with repetitive, detailed and precision-based work.
- Strong organization, time-management and recordkeeping skills.
- A positive attitude, dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- The confidence to stop, recheck your work and ask questions rather than guessing when something is unclear.
- A team-first approach and willingness to support coworkers and other departments when needed.
- Flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- The ability to stand for extended periods and complete repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, reaching and lifting or moving products and supplies, with accommodation where required.
