SUMMARY

Ensure that dedicated trucks are loaded, unloaded, and treated with precision, adhering to weight requirements, available space, and the variety of goods.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Thoroughly understand the procedures for handling Erb Transport goods on the dock. Understand the responsibilities of dock loaders and receiving personnel.

Load trucks and trailers to specific locations while avoiding damage by ensuring equipment is set to the appropriate temperatures.

Assess the volume of goods in trailers, perform cubing, weigh, and produce additional reports as needed.

Organize the dock floor and arrange goods so that orders can be located efficiently and accurately.

Read and verify bills of lading to match goods according to manifests. Ensure that trucks are loaded in accordance with legal weight limits and allocated space for goods.

Use forklifts and pallet jacks safely. Inform appropriate personnel of any equipment needing repair or follow-up.

Perform any other related tasks as needed.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating a forklift.

Knowledge of Erb’s systems and operations is an asset.

Ability to work in a refrigerated environment during shifts that can go up to 8 hours.

Capable of lifting up to 70 lb.

Team spirit and positive attitude.

Good communication skills to interact effectively with dock personnel, operations teams, and drivers.

Health and safety-focused approach.

WORK CONDITIONS

Hourly-paid position, based on a 40-hour workweek with the possibility of overtime.

Employees will work in a refrigerated dock and occasionally in a freezer.
