SUMMARY

Ensure the precise loading, unloading, and handling of dedicated trucks in accordance with weight requirements, available space, and the diversity of goods.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Master the procedures for handling Erb Transport freight on the dock, as well as the responsibilities of Dock Loaders and Dock Receivers.
• Load trucks and trailers destined for specific terminals, while preventing damage and ensuring that equipment is set to the appropriate temperatures.
• Assess the volume of freight in trailers, perform cubing, reweighing, and any additional documentation as needed.
• Organize the dock and position freight to allow for quick and precise identification of orders.
• Read and validate bills of lading to ensure that goods match manifests. Ensure that trucks are loaded in accordance with legal weight limits and allocated space.
• Use the forklift and pallet jack safely. Notify the appropriate personnel of any equipment requiring repairs or follow-up.
• Perform any other related tasks as needed.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a forklift.
• Knowledge of Erb's systems and operations is considered an asset.
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment for up to 8 hours.
• Ability to lift loads up to 70 lb.
• Team spirit and positive attitude.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with dock personnel, operations, and drivers.
• Strong concern for health and safety.
• WORK CONDITIONS
• Hourly-paid position, based on a 40-hour workweek, with the possibility of overtime.
• Work primarily takes place on a refrigerated dock and, occasionally, in a freezing environment.
